Watch: A brief introduction to Bart's approach to executive mentorship
I don't just study human stories; I have lived them.
My journey began in the legendary Catskills hotels of New York—a vibrant, mid-century cultural landscape that shaped my visual eye as an artist and my deep appreciation for the complex tapestry of behavior and community memory.
When I stepped into the professional world, I didn't choose a single path. I spent over 50 years operating in the deep trenches of human behavior and institutional architecture. As a licensed therapist, I spent five decades unpacking the mechanics of human conflict, trauma, and personal growth. Concurrently, I stepped into the boardroom, serving for decades as a hands-on CEO, founder, transitional leader, and interim executive for complex corporate and non-profit organizations.
I learned firsthand that the view from the top is uniquely isolating. I built my Strategic Mentorship practice because I realized that today’s leaders don’t just need operational spreadsheets—they need a trusted, confidential partner who understands the intense psychological weight of key decisions.
Today, working from my home studio in Foster City, California, alongside my dachshund and cat, that same lifetime of observation flows into my creative work. When I step out onto the California coast to paint a plein air landscape, capture a portrait, or sit down to write a historical fiction scene, I am drawing from the exact same reservoir: fifty years of listening to people's deepest truths.
I am a native son, a retired executive, a therapist, an author, and an impressionistic painter.
But above all, I am a custodian of the human experience.
Whether you want to explore strategic executive mentorship, discuss the atmospheric nuances of an impressionistic landscape, or dive into the rich cultural history of the 1960s Catskills, my door is open. I’m always happy to hear from you.
